The result should be a midair turn that allows you to maintain the initial momentum of your sliding jump as you change direction. To complete the Tap Strafe, you’ll move your mouse in whichever direction you are strafing while repeatedly inputting the “move forward” command. Many high-level players bind the “move forward” command to the mouse’s scroll wheel for Tap Strafing, as simply scrolling the wheel will activate several “move forward” commands. Which direction your character turns will depend on whether you were strafing with the “A” or “D” key. While air strafing, you’ll want to rapidly press whatever key you have bound to “move forward,” which will cause you to change directions while in the air, and also shift the direction of your momentum from your sliding jump without losing any of it. While in midair, you’ll either hold down the “A” (left) or “D” (right) key, depending on which direction you would like to go while turning around on its own, this is called “air strafing.” With the jump-pad, you can use your 2nd jump to change directions to overthrow your enemies anyways, and if you launch yourself on a team, well then., I don't think I need to say more about that. The setup for Tap Strafing involves performing a simple crouch-slide and jumping out of it. But I do believe that good players overcome even unfair changes or changes that affect us more than others. Of course it was fun, the game was also fun without Seer. Originally posted by KNDY:It's just fun to tap-strafe. I don't care if it had to be removed but was it fun? Yes. The endless cycle of buffing/nerfing legend abilities when it first came out at just a little help and all about gun fight. ![]() The possibility of it made Apex even more so unique compared to other shooter out there. Sure gunning someone down 200+ damage in a single clip is fun or pleasing, but is it tap-strafe fun? No. Heck, simply sliding past someone while shooting at them is already something most player I come across with, can't keep up. It's provides window of opportunity in a seemingly lost situation and fun at that too! Out-maneuvering, doing something your opponent do not expect. Stuck in a room with only a jumppad towards your enemy? Jumppad-strafe 180 degree away. Similarly it's fun doing bunny hopping or wall bounces when they give you no real advantage. If you play controller on console such as PS4, PS5, XBOX, etc. Removing it takes the fun away, so no doubt people complain. Apparently tap strafing is no longer possible in ApexLegends as of right now. Tap strafing is possible on Controller, but heres the catch ONLY on PC. ![]() It's an exploit that would only be appropriate to leave in if it was accessible to everyone. ![]() I dunno what you read but it's being removed. See the dev note below for more context."Īnd the dev note goes on to say how they've made changes to prevent sharp 90s to remove tap strafing This previously enabled an exaggerated movement tech known as "Tap Strafing. ![]() "(PC only) You’ll no longer be able to bind forward movement to the Mouse wheel on PC. Originally posted by TTV OrxsN:i agree, tap strafing has way to high of a use at even low ranks (granted nothing crazy) but that little dodge in a 1v1 that you were winning then suddenly lose your tracking and centering because wraith decides to jump right then TS left followed by 3 evo shots to ruin your day, is not fun, regardless of the skill level, also it was found 2 seasons ago, not exactly a ground base mechanic from the early days You do realize its not going away right? Just read the patch notes
